Play action takes 2+ seconds just to get out of the fake handoff, which is too slow. By the time you're ready to throw, the pocket is collapsing and defenses recover from the fake. The animation timing is completely broken compared to regular dropbacks.

Tap RT on Xbox or R2 on PlayStation right after the snap. This cancels the fake handoff but keeps the same routes, blocking scheme, and defensive reaction - just without the slow PA animation.

Yes, blocking the halfback is better than running PA. You get an extra blocker for 7-man protection, faster ball release with no fake animation delay, and better pocket protection against edge rushers and blitzers.
