Tap RT on Xbox or R2 on PlayStation right after the snap. This cancels the fake handoff but keeps the same routes, blocking scheme, and defensive reaction - just without the slow PA animation.

Yes, blocking the halfback is better than running PA. You get an extra blocker for 7-man protection, faster ball release with no fake animation delay, and better pocket protection against edge rushers and blitzers.
