He looks exactly the same. But he plays DRASTICALLY different.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Without shading:\u003C\u002Fstrong> He sits at 10+ yards. Ball gets thrown right in front of him. He makes the tackle AFTER the catch.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>With shading underneath:\u003C\u002Fstrong> He drops to 4-5 yards off the line. Do this at the start of EVERY game.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>Auto Defensive Play Call: ON\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>Unless you REALLY know what you're doing, keep this ON. Leave it at balanced or your defense gets all fouled up. Conservative means the read key ALWAYS plays the quarterback. They have to hand it off into the teeth of your defense where your user is.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>Option Defense Pitch Key: AGGRESSIVE\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>I want them holding the ball at QB so we can hit them. The biggest speed option plays are when they pitch outside to the halfback. If they're fitting that ball in consistently — let them. They can't do it every time without throwing a pick.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>If they're throwing it THAT fast, they're begging to get picked off by your user.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch2>Why Am I Giving Up One-Play Touchdowns in Man Coverage?\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\u003Cp>This is something you need to STOP doing because it's killing you.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>The Problem: Off Man + Shade Underneath\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>When you run \u003Cstrong>off man coverage\u003C\u002Fstrong> (DBs backed off the receivers) and you \u003Cstrong>shade coverage underneath\u003C\u002Fstrong> — your DBs fire down at the snap.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>This leaves EVERYTHING open above them. One-play touchdown.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>Cover Two Man Has The Same Issue\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>Cover Two Man comes naturally shaded underneath. Even though you're pressed up, a fade route can get open over top if:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>You user the high safety\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003Cli>The safety is in a bad position\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\n\u003Cp>One-play touchdown.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>The Solution\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>Whenever you're shaded underneath, you NEED safety help over top. Spread the D-line, great pressure. Problem is — people see it and immediately roll out.
