Civil.GG Events: Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Civil.GG provides exclusive tournaments, strategy calls, and community events as a benefit of membership. These events are not the primary purpose of membership, nor are they a separate product or service.

By participating in any Civil.GG event, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

2. Membership & Event Access

  • Civil.GG Events are an added benefit for active Civil.GG members but are not the main feature of membership.
  • Members receive access to training resources, coaching, strategy guides, and the Civil.GG community, with events as an optional perk.
  • Civil.GG reserves the right to modify, add, or remove events as needed.

3. Tournament Eligibility & Fair Play

  • Participation is exclusive to active Civil.GG members unless otherwise stated.
  • Members must have a valid Civil.GG account and Discord account linked to their membership.
  • Tournaments are skill-based competitions, and winners are determined by gameplay performance, not chance.
  • Any form of cheating, match-fixing, exploiting, or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification and possible account suspension.

4. Prizes & Payouts

  • Prizes are not guaranteed and may fluctuate based on event type, sponsorships, and other factors.
  • Civil.GG reserves the right to modify prize amounts or substitute rewards as needed.
  • Prize pools will be announced before each tournament and may include gift cards, digital goods, or other rewards.

4.1 Prize Distribution & Taxation

  • Prizes are delivered digitally within 14 days unless otherwise stated.
  • If a winner fails to claim their prize within 30 days, the prize may be forfeited.
  • Winners earning $600+ in total prizes per year may be required to submit tax documentation (e.g., IRS Form W-9 for U.S. residents).
  • Civil.GG is not responsible for tax obligations related to prize winnings.

5. Community Events & Strategy Calls

  • Civil.GG may host strategy calls, discussions, and interactive events for its members.
  • Participation is optional and must follow all community guidelines.
  • Civil.GG reserves the right to remove disruptive members from events at any time.

6. Disclaimers & Liability

  • Civil.GG Events are subject to change and may be adjusted or discontinued at any time.
  • No refunds or compensation will be provided for event modifications or cancellations.
  • Technical Issues: Civil.GG is not responsible for server outages, lag, disconnections, or game-related bugs affecting tournament outcomes.
  • Platform Independence: These tournaments and events are not affiliated with EA Sports, Discord, PlayStation, Xbox, or any other platform unless otherwise stated.
  • Gift Card Terms: If gift cards are awarded, they are subject to the issuer’s terms and conditions.
  • No Cash Equivalent: Tournament prizes cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to other accounts.

7. Rule Modifications & Updates

  • Civil.GG reserves the right to update event structures, rules, and prize allocations at any time.
  • Changes will be announced via Discord, email, or the Civil.GG website.

Agreement to Terms

By participating in any Civil.GG event, you acknowledge that:
✔ Events are an added membership benefit, not the primary offering of Civil.GG.
✔ Civil.GG reserves the right to modify or cancel events as needed.
✔ Failure to comply with these terms may result in disqualification, prize forfeiture, or account suspension.
